CYBERCRIME AND ITS IMPACTS ON YOUTH A STUDY OF BZU MULTAN

<div><p>Humans have numerous motives for engaging in crime. Cybercrime is a fast-growing area of crime. In Pakistan, the incidence of cybercrime has also been on the rise. According to official statistics, the education system of Pakistan comprises of almost 0.26 million institutions, and 1.5 million teachers who facilitate approximately 41 million students. The types of crime committed in cyberspace are hacking, identity theft, bullying, cyber stalking, financial fraud, digital piracy, computer viruses and worms, malicious software, intellectual property rights, money laundering, denial of service attack, electronic terrorism, vandalism and extortion. Pakistan is not devoid of cybercrime cases similar to the ones discussed on a global scale. The title of the research is “Cyber Crime and its impacts on Youth, a case Study of B.Z University Multan” has objectives, to see the awareness of cybercrime among students of B.Z University Multan want to see the safety measures taken by students in order to reduce the risk of victimization. To illuminate the objectives, the researcher selected the 300 cases of students of B.Z University through convenient sampling. Questionnaire technique was used for data collection through survey method. The conclusion of this research revealed that most of students of B.Z University did not have awareness about cybercrime because there is no proper arrangement of awareness programs in Universities, societies, even on social media. They became victim of cybercrime because there are not any safety measures taken for the cybercrime prevention. </p></div>
